Little Falls Historical Society Request for Assistance
The Little Falls Historical Society is seeking assistance in retrieving information – pictures, newspaper articles, eye witness accounts .. etc. – related to the releasing of large numbers of homing pigeons from trucks at the former Vets Park Burwell Street parking lot in the mid-1950s – 1960s. Tennis and basketball courts are now located in that former parking lot area. These pigeon releases were part of homing pigeon racing competitions.
The Historical Society is also seeking any pictures of and / or newspaper articles about the Railway Express Agency Co. from the mid-1920s – 1946 when the company’s office was located in what is now the Old Bank Building Museum.
Anyone who can help out with either of these requests should please contact Jeffrey Gressler at 315/823-2799.
