Class of 1972: 35th Reunion

The 35th reunion was attended by a small but hearty group of alums from the class of 1972. The evening began with the opportunity to renew acquaintances over a glass of wine or beer. People enjoyed looking over the yearbook and Joyce's collection of newspaper clippings from over the years and photos of past reunions. Joe Gallagher offered a grace and a moment of silence for our deceased members. We also read emails from members who could not attend this time. A fantastic dinner prepared by Ruth Petkovsek and her staff followed. A couple of raffles were held to benefit the scholarship fund. Joyce had thank you notes available from each recipient for the past 34 years. We also had a raffle of items that members brought from their area. Some lucky people won items such as golf balls, bottles of wine, a canal t-shirt, Redco products, items from the state Museum in Albany and cookies from Philadelphia. DJ Kevin Canastar offered great music but this group did not dance - preferring to continue chatting and reminiscing instead.

A highlight of the evening was when Peggy McGinnis Romano brought in a long lost class ring with the initials of JB. Turns out that our very own Joyce Becker Kaufman lost her ring a few weeks after receiving it and it turned up in someone's home very recently. What a wonderful surprise.

A survey was handed out and we hope to find out more information from all members of the class of 72 to improve the reunions and attendance in future years.

Those who attended from the Class of 1972: John Ehlinger, Linda Casler, Denny Davis, Suzanne Atutis Moore, Sharlene Moshier, Joe Gallagher, Keith Carrig, Aosta Busacker Edelman, Peggy McGinnis Romano. Larry Miklic, Paulette "Turkey" Restante, Bob Ehlinger, Dave "Leroy" Wright, Kathy Sterzinar Mocko, Mary Welch Tomaso, Joyce Kaufman, Jim Kaufman, Bill Heron, Wendy Koziol Shafer, Jerry Albrecht, Kathy Sadlon and Dean Doxtader.
