Little Falls High School class of 1973 marked their 35th Anniversary at a
gathering held at Mohawk Valley Country Club on August 6th, 2008.
The evening began with a cocktail reception as the class and guests enjoyed a
captivating view of the Mohawk Valley from the banquet facility at the Country
Club. Brandon Edick served as DJ, playing selections from the 70’s that set the
tone for a relaxing and enjoyable evening with friends.
As the class was seated for dinner, Clete McLaughlin provided welcoming remarks
and served as Master of Ceremonies in outlining the informal program for the
evening. Martin Babinec followed with an update from the LFHS Alumni Network,
including mention of the recent launch of a Career Perspectives program in which
distinguished alums have come back to the school to share career insights with
the junior and senior classes.
A most delectable meal was served featuring mixed green salad, grilled iron
steak, marinated grilled chicken and vegetarian delight (stuffed Portobello
mushroom); rice pilaf, roasted red potatoes, pasta salad, vegetables and
dessert. Classmates were complimentary about both the quality of the food and
service provided by the Country Club.
An open microphone period followed the meal in which classmates shared special
memories of our high school years, dialogue on the whereabouts of classmates,
and remembrances of those in our class no longer with us. Reforming a duo going
back to 1973, the class was delighted to hear an incredibly smooth rendition of
Amazing Grace sung a cappella by Deborah Albrecht Alberico and Ann Marie Peron
Doherty.
There was also discussion about gathering input for our next reunion,
potentially including a family activity in addition to an evening dinner.
The group lingered long after the closing of the dinner and program, genuinely
enjoying each other’s company and sharing.
The Class of 73 would like to extend a special thanks to the Reunion Committee
for organizing the event: Mark Kaucher, Sue Senft Crimmins, Kathy Van Slyke
Haberek, Rose Marie Canorro Battisti, Kip LaQue, Michele Clark Marocco, Clete
McLaughlin and Martin Babinec.
In addition to committee members, other classmates in attendance included: Gina
Pellerito Ackerman, Deborah Albrecht Alberico, Mike Bacher, Allan Brin, Joe
Buckley, Ann Marie Peron Doherty, Dave Fox, Sheila Reardon Gilman, Sharon Sadlon
Herringshaw, Don Knapp, Michele Clark Marocco, Ken Nash, Andrea Hecox
Littlejohn, Chris Logar, Lou Petelin, Basil Petras, Steve Potter, Dan Reardon,
Shawn Reardon, Elaine Rovazzi, Cindy Snell Sanborn, Dave Vallecorsa, Jeff Van
Gorder, and Valerie Wnuk Murphy. More than twenty classmates brought guests,
adding to the opportunity for us to make new friends.
Our classmates (and all LFHS alums) are urged to register on the LFHS Alumni
Network web site if they’ve not already done so. Registering on the site will
permit your getting the latest class news as well as access to the secure Alumni
